One injured in Glasgow crash as person rushed to hospital

A person has been rushed to hospital following a crash in Glasgow. Emergency services were called to the Duke Street area of the city just before midday on June 1 following reports of a serious incident.

Two ambulances, a special operations response team (SORT), a trauma team and multiple police vehicles were dispatched to the street that links the city centre to the east end. It is understood they were responding to a road traffic crash.

Glasgow Live reports that a person was taken from the scene to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. Their condition is currently unknown.

The road was shut for a time to allow emergency services to work but has since re-opened. It is understood police remain at the scene.

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 10.36 to attend an incident on Duke Street, Glasgow.

"One patient was transported to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.”
