One in five people prefer eating a chocolate bar than having sex, survey finds

When it comes to choosing between chocolate and sex, it seems many Brits prefer the sweet treat…

One in five would rather have a Dairy Milk than nookie, according to a survey.

And youngsters are even more chocolate mad, with a surprising quarter of 18 to 29-year-olds favouring a bar to sex.

The study was carried out by insights agency Perspectus Global. Spokesman Jon Horsley said: “It’s fascinating to see that for Generation Z, a bar of chocolate is preferable to a roll in the hay, and that the older you are, the more likely you’d choose bedroom antics over a sweet treat.”

The findings came to light during a survey to find the nation’s number one chocolate bar.

And Dairy Milk was crowned the winner, followed by Galaxy. Twirl, Wispa, KitKat and Crunchie made the top 10 but KitKat and Mars Bar never, coming 13th and 14th respectively.

Three in 10 of those quizzed said their childhood favourite had remained their top chocolate bar long into adulthood.

Two thirds said milk chocs were the best, one in five preferred dark and one in 10 rated white the tastiest.

Nottingham folk were named the biggest chocoholics with 22% admitting it was their weakness, followed by Bristol on 21% and Sheffield and Liverpool on 20%.

Mr Horsley added: “We were surprised to see just how much the nation still loves a chocolate bar and that the classic Dairy Milk is still the nation’s favourite.”
