A person was hospitalised with smoke inhalation today following an apartment fire in the south inner city.
Dublin Fire Brigade responded to the blaze at an apartment block in the Coombe area of the Liberties, with advanced paramedics also attending to
Heavy smoke could be seen rising from one of the balconies of the building.
The fire was contained to one apartment in the building thanks to the quick work by the fire service.
Dublin Fire Brigade said: "5 crews responded to a fully developed apartment fire in the Coombe earlier today.

"One person was taken by ambulance to hospital with smoke inhalation after assessment on scene by Firefighter/Advanced Paramedics. The fire was contained to one apartment."
DFB also said they used a rope, known as a drop line, for transporting equipment up the scene of the fire.

They said: "We refer to it as a drop line, can be easier that dragging hose around the stairwell.
"Good for getting small equipment up to the fire floor without committing more BA teams to bring it up."
