One hospitalised as other driver leaves scene before fire brigade arrive to Dublin collision

A person was hospitalised following an early morning collision in Dublin earlier today.

The driver of the other vehicle, a car, left the scene before emergency services arrived.

Firefighters from Balbriggan responded to the scene where a van and a car had collided.

Dublin Fire Brigade said: "Firefighters from Balbriggan responded to this RTC as dawn broke this morning. One to hospital as a precaution. The driver of the car had left the scene before the arrival of emergency services."

The Dolphin's Barn station was also called to the scene of a vehicle on fire last night.

Dramatic scenes showed the car in flames as a firefighter tackled the blaze.

They said: "Vehicle fire being extinguished by Dolphins Barn firefighters overnight. Unlike the movies the fuel tank rarely explodes but the tyres do "pop" as the heat increases."
