Ex-Nottingham Forest favourite named in Championship 'team of the decade'

Sky Sports pundits David Prutton and Don Goodman have been hard at work this week picking their Championship Team of the Decade.

The pair were tasked with selecting the very best of the best that the Football League has had to offer over the past ten years to make the ultimate Championship eleven.

And they have finally come to their conclusion, naming one former Nottingham Forest star along the way - Premier League winning centre-half Wes Morgan.

Morgan turned out over 400 times for the Red between 2002 and 2012 and was a regular in defence on Trentside for nine seasons.

After starting the decade in impressive fashion for Forest, Morgan joined Leicester City where he would go on to help the Foxes to promotion to the top flight before captaining them to achieving the unthinkable - a 5000/1 Premier League title win.

"The names that jumped out at me initially were Morgan, Bamba and Dunk," said Prutton, as added Morgan and Dunk to the list.

"Unsurprisingly, it's two of those who have made this side.

"Having come across him   at Forest in League One, if you had said to me Morgan   would go on to lift the Premier League, I would have laughed you out of the dressing room.

"At the time he had a particular physique and skill-set but he worked so hard on it and performed brilliantly in the Championship, then went on to do it in the Premier League."
