One fan in hospital after Chelsea FC and Man City supporters clash in Porto ahead of Champions League Final

Football fans in Porto clashed overnight ahead of the Champions League final between Chelsea and Manchester City, with one supporter admitted to hospital.

Footage posted by Portuguese news outlet Record, headlined ‘English fans cause chaos in Porto night’, shows supporters fighting in the streets and police breaking up skirmishes.

Record go on to report that the local police were forced to intervene and close the bars in the Ribeira area, where they add hundreds of Chelsea and City fans had gathered since Thursday afternoon.

Bars in the city of Porto are currently due to shut at 10.30pm local time under current guidelines in the area and it is believed the trouble started around that time.

According to Sky Sports News on Friday morning, the mayor of Porto has confirmed one fan was sent to hospital with minor injuries.

Police swiftly broke up any clashes between supporters and, as of Friday morning, no arrests had been reported by the Portuguese media following last night’s trouble.
