One driver's shocking parking delays bus in Leeds for two hours

A bus was stuck in Leeds for over two hours today, all because of one driver's poor parking.

First West Yorkshire's number 6 service couldn't get between two parked cars on Wood Hill Road, Horsforth after someone decided to double park.

The stranded bus caused long delays for passengers and motorists were forced to queue behind it on the residential road, until the red-faced driver returned to move their car.

A First West Yorkshire spokesman said: "Generally local residents are aware of the need for bus access and are considerate in parking on one side of the road.

"Unfortunately on this occasion, a car was parked near to the steep section on Wood Hill Road near to the junction of Tinshill Road.

"We informed West Yorkshire Police. Eventually the owner of the vehicle turned up and drove away.

"We’re sorry for the impact on our customers today and would remind people of the importance of considerate parking to ensure safe and accessible travel for all bus users on the route."
