One Direction tweet fuels speculation of reunion to mark 10th anniversary

One Direction fans are thinking and hoping something big is coming as this week marks 10 years since the group were formed on The X Factor.

Yes, it was back in the summer of 2010 that teenagers Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik were put together by the judges at the Boot Camp stage of the competition and, as they say the rest of history.

After earning a place in the live shows after impressing at Judges Houses, the lads went all the way to the final. And, while they lost out to that year's winner, Matt Cardle, their star rapidly ascended on a worldwide scale, thanks, in no small part, to their Brit Award winning debut number 1, What Makes You Beautiful.

Other hits like One Thing, Live While We're Young, Little Things and One Way or Another quickly followed as the boyband became famous across the globe.

Fans were devastated when Zayn quit One Direction in 2015 and then the rest of the group parted ways the following year.

But, now it looks like something major could be on the horizon after the group's official Twitter account posted for the first time in years.

The accounted posted an image with the words '10 Years of One Direction', which was captioned: "Tomorrow! You and me got a whole lot of history."

And that was enough to send Directioners into a frenzy. At the time of writing, it had been retweeted well over 400,000 times in just 1 hour!

One fan commented: "IM READY TAKE ME HOME," and another reacted: "this will easily be the best week of 2020."
