One Direction star Zayn Malik’s brother-in-law has been jailed for drug dealing after a police investigation found he was part of the county lines network.
Martin Tiser, 23, was arrested after officers raided his home in Bradford and found £17,000 worth of crack cocaine in his garden shed that was guarded by a large dog.
Tiser married Malik’s younger sister Safaa in September 2019 when she was 17 and he was 18. The One Direction star did not attend his sister’s wedding at the time as he was in the US.
Malik bought a £245,000 home for his sister, Tiser, and their daughter Zaneyah, who was born four months after the wedding. This was not the home raided by officers in May.
Tiser was jailed for four years at Bradford Crown Court this week.
He was detained as part of Operation Keyside as part of the “Kev line”, which supplied Class A drugs, MailOnline reported.
According to the news outlet, the court heard that cell data obtained from February 2025 showed a number of calls and bulk texts from that number advertising drugs. The line was active close to Tiser’s home.
One read: “Kev on power...pure dynamite from 8-8. Best deals.”
Prosecutor Alisha Kaye told the court that the phone used for “Kev line” was found on Tiser when officers raided his home. CCTV also found Tiser buying mobile top-up vouchers, thought to be for the device.
Mitigating, Safter Salam, said: “He came here unable to speak a word of English. He struggled to assimilate himself and challenges that this defendant faced were not just linguistic.
“He grew up in a deprived area, being isolated socially and emotionally. He was highly vulnerable to exploitation.”
Judge Recorder Hawkins told Tiser: “You're only 23 and you have a conviction in relation to drugs, but it was simply possession of cannabis, but it was plain you were taking drugs, and it may be because of that you got involved in these offences.”
Tiser will have to serve up to half of his sentence before being considered for release on license.
Malik has not addressed his brother-in-law’s arrest or sentencing. He currently lives in America.
