One Direction's Niall Horan has unusual new obsession during lockdown

In his hit song Slow Hands, Niall Horan croons about a woman who wants to get her hands all over his “dirty laundry”. Ooh er.

But, it seems, that won’t be happening any time soon because the ex-One Directioner has become hooked on cleaning.

The Irish chart-topper admits he gets a guilty pleasure out of a bit of hoovering and polishing.

Niall, 26, who used the lockdown to explore his domestic skills, says: “I’ve found myself cleaning.

“Cleaning is so therapeutic, I didn’t realise. I obviously do it in dribs and drabs, but this is basically a month-long spring clean that we’re getting ourselves into and it’s really good.

“The house has never looked cleaner.“

Niall has also become the chef of his kitchen during the coronavirus crisis. He says: “I have been doing cooking which I like but don’t get a lot of time to do.

“I’ll cook around my workouts and then cook in the evening for my housemates. That’s been really good.

“Also, a lot more working out. I find myself sometimes working out twice a day. I want to come out of this absolutely shredded – but I probably won’t because I do like to eat crap.”

And Niall reveals he has been learning to play a new instrument – which means his music might go in another direction.

He says: “I bought a ukulele, I’m trying to learn that. I’ve also been doing piano lessons on an app and just trying to get better at things.

“And I have been chilling, man. I have been reading some poetry and then picking up a guitar at every opportunity, and trying to write some tunes.”

Sounds blissful.
