One Direction 'in secret talks for 10th anniversary reunion'

Pop star Liam Payne has confirmed he's been in talks about a possible reunion project for One Direction for their tenth anniversary in July.

The Strip That Down singer, 26, revealed he's been chatting to his former bandmates Harry Styles, Niall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson, who have all had solo careers since the band went on indefinite hiatus four years ago.

Speaking to The Sun, Liam revealed that due to the social distancing measures brought about by the coronavirus pandemic, he has been catching up with his old One Direction chums.

Of course, marking a decade since the band got together in July is high on the agenda.

He said: “There's a number of different things that we are all working on to try and make happen and people are forwarding emails around.

"But more than anything it's just been a real good time for us to connect together again."

It is unclear if these plans will have any involvement from Zayn Malik, who spectacularly quit the boy group in 2015 and who has since enjoyed his own solo career and high profile relationship with model Gigi Hadid.

Liam also spoke of his love for his fellow bandmates' individual success stories, especially Harry's.

He said of Harry: "I think he's really found his sound at the moment which is a joy to watch."

Harry himself recently discussed his own social distancing measures when talking to Dermot O'Leary on the Radio 2 Breakfast Show.

Styles said: "I mean, I've worked here a lot so I have friends here and stuff and I'm lucky enough to be quarantining with a couple of friends, we all sort of started at the same time with each other."

While the boys have all been busy, we can't imagine they'd disappoint a chance to revel in nostalgia with their fans.

There's also the small detail that One Direction earned 50 million in record sales as a result of their music together.
