One Direction call in Obama's troops

A clear escalation in One Direction security stories, now, as a report in the Sun claims the boys have hired President Barack Obama's bodyguards and "crack troops who served in Iraq" for their North American tour.

"They will be protected by some of the best security personnel America has to offer," an insider breathes to the paper, perhaps handing over the information in an underground parking garage. "There is significant concern that the group will be greeted by mobs of thousands of girls, which is too much for the normal team to handle …Liam becoming single has made things even more fraught."

Of course, "former Obama bodyguards" isn't always a security kitemark, given that a bunch of them were recently suspended for "partying" with prostitutes in Cartagena on the eve of Obama's Summit of the Americas. But in the end, what's not to salute in a report that claims the following: "A separate team is being dispatched by Madame Tussauds to guard the boys' waxworks, which are going on display in New York." And honestly, there's no shame in such an assignment. As long as the heavies wear T-shirts reading: "I'D RATHER BE IN BASRA."
