One Direction break two year silence amid reunion rumours

One Direction have broken their two year Twitter silence amid rumours of a reunion.

The band teased there was some big news coming on Thursday with a crypic tweet shared today.

No one has posted on the One Direction Twitter account since July 24 2018, the day after they celebrated eight years of the band.

But they made their long-awaited combeack on Wednesday, tweeting: "Tomorrow! You and me got a whole lot of history #10YearsOf1D."

They also shared a picture that said "10 years of One Direction" on a plain black background.

July 23rd is ten years to the day that the band were formed.

Fans have been hoping for a reunion, though it seems there are no plans for this yet.

Earlier this week it was confirmed that the band will mark their anniversary with a brand new website and a10 year celebration video especially made for their fans.

According to the band's reps, the website will take the form of a timeline charting the history of the group, from the first audition right up to the start of their hiatus.

It will also host an "archive of music videos, artwork, TV performances, behind-the-scenes and rarely-seen content".

The new video will document highlights of the band's career.

Reformatted EPs will also be released across streaming platforms.

One Direction formed on X Factor in 2010.

The band was originally formed of Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson.

Zayn left the band in March 2015 and the band went on hiatus at the end of that year.
