One dead, three hospitalised after two-car crash in Canberra's north

One person has died and three people are in hospital with serious injuries after two cars collided head-on in Cook on Saturday morning.

Police said the crash happened about 11.30am on Coulter Drive between William Hovell Drive and Springvale Drive.

The road was closed for more than six hours on Saturday. It reopened about 6pm.

One person died at the scene. Three people were taken to hospital by ambulance with serious injuries.

ACT Police are investigating the incident. A report will be prepared for the coroner.
