One dead after multi-vehicle crash at Coimadai, north-west of Melbourne

A man has died as a result of a multi-vehicle collision involving a truck, a bus and cars at Coimadai, north-west of Melbourne this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the site of the crash on Diggers Rest-Coimadai Road about 3:40pm.

The male driver of a car that left the road and crashed into a tree during the collision has died.

Police said driver of the truck was trapped for a short time before being assisted by emergency services, while the driver of the bus was the vehicle's only occupant.

Paramedics confirmed two people involved in the crash were taken to hospital with upper body injuries and both remain in a stable condition

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have been notified as police continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
