One dead after incident in Aberdeen as cops seal off scene

Police are calling for witnesses after a man died in hospital following an incident in Aberdeen.

Cops rushed to an address on Jasmine Terrace in the city around 10am this morning.

An injured man was discovered at the property and taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

However, he sadly died at the hospital.

A 26-year-old man has now been arrested in connection with the incident and police are calling for anyone with information to get in contact.

We told earlier how two riot vans, one police car and officers were spotted on Jasmine Terrace, just off King Street this morning.

Detective Inspector Gary Winter, from the Major Investigation Team said: “Enquiries are at an early stage and there will be a significant police presence and activity in the area whilst we carry out our investigation into this incident.

“This would appear to have be an isolated incident and there was no wider threat to the local community.

“Anyone who heard or saw anything in the area is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference 1418 of 23 August.”
