One dead after car crash in the NT's remote Daly River region

NT Police are investigating the cause of the fatal crash.

One person has died after a car crashed on a private property in the NT's remote Daly River region overnight, while in Tennant Creek a man has died after a fatal motorcycle accident.

NT Police said five people were in a ute involved at the Daly River crash at the time of the accident.

A 13-year-old girl was airlifted to Royal Darwin Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

NT Police Watch Commander Sonia Kennon said police were in the process of investigating the cause of the crash and notifying next of kin.

"A crime scene has been held overnight," she said.

"Investigators from Territory Major Crash are currently at the scene carrying out further investigations."

Police said because they had not yet contacted next of kin, limited details were available.

The girl is now in a stable condition.

The ABC understands the accident happened near Tipperary Station, 36 kilometres east of the Daly River and police were called to the scene around 9:00pm.

The Daly River region is around 200 kilometres south of Darwin.

Meanwhile, a 47-year-old man died after coming off a motorcycle on Savieri Road in Tennant Creek, just before 1:00pm.

Police said he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.

Emergency services workers attempted to resuscitate the man but he died at the scene of the accident.

Police investigators are today travelling from Alice Springs to Tennant Creek to establish the cause of the accident.
