One person has died after an explosion outside a UK hospital.
Chief Constable Serena Kennedy of Merseyside Police has confirmed that there was one death after a car explosion outside the Liverpool Women's Hospital this morning (November 14).
Another person has been taken to hospital with serious injuries but is not believed to be in a life threatening condition, reports the Liverpool Echo.

Counter terrorism police are leading the investigation into the explosion, reports the Liverpool Echo.
The news comes after dramatic images showed a vehicle engulfed by flames outside the hospital in Crown Street.
The fire could be seen ripping through the entire car as witnesses captured the photos from just yards away.
According to Liverpool Echo, flames were at least three metres high which could be seen from blazing out of the window frames as thick black smoke filled the air.
Another photograph showed a burnt-out car outside the entrance to the hospital in the Merseyside city.
Eyewitnesses reported hearing a 'bang' and a video from the scene shows smoke billowing into the sky.
Police confirmed they were called to the scene at 11am today (Sunday, November 14).
A number of roads around the hospital have been cordoned off and Merseyside Fire and Rescue along with a Royal Logistic Corps army vehicle are at the scene.
