One casualty after house fire rips through Scots home

There was one woman injured following a house fire in a Scots home.

Scottish Fire and Rescue confirmed they were called to the scene on Westray Street in Milton, Glasgow on the evening of Monday 14 June.

They confirmed one female casualty but did not give details.

Crews managed to extinguish the fire which began in the kitchen, according to the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

The side of the street connecting to Birsay Road has been completely blocked off to traffic following the incident.

It is not yet known if there were any others in the home or if there were any other injuries.

On Tuesday morning Police confirmed their attendance at the blaze.

A force spokeswoman told the Record: “We were called around 6.50pm on Monday, June 15, to the report of a fire a property on Westray Street in Glasgow.

“Officers attended to assist colleagues at the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.”
