One brave bettor could earn $1.2 million on longshot Bengals odds

One brave bettor stands to earn $1.2 million on NFL odds — if the Cincinnati Bengals claim the AFC’s No. 1 seed in 2020.

It’s a long shot, to say the least, as Ben Fawkes of VSiN reports a bettor in Las Vegas threw down a smooth $5,000 on Cincinnati’s 250-1 odds to finish as the top seed.

That means the bettor is gambling on the Joe Burrow-led Bengals to rebound from a two-win season, so much so as to pull off arguably a bigger feat than San Francisco last year (rebounding from four wins to 13).

Burrow’s not only a rookie, but he also won’t have the benefit of any preseason games and pads are only going on in training camps just this week. Cincinnati also spent the offseason dramatically overhauling the defense.

While not the safest of bets, it’d be quite the payout and windfall for Bengals fans at the same time.
