One airlifted to hospital after horror lorry crash shuts down busy Scots road

One casualty has been airlifted to hospital after a horror lorry crash shut down a busy Scots road.

The smash happened at around 12.20pm this afternoon on the A835 approximately five miles from Braemar, at Loch Droma.

Emergency services raced to the area and shut down the road in both directions.

An air ambulance was dispatched taking the injured person to Raigmore Hospital.

A police spokespersons said: "At around 12.20pm, on Wednesday 3 February 2021, police received a report of a road crash involving a lorry on the A835 approximately 5 miles from Braemar.

"Emergency services are in attendance."

Scottish Ambulance said: “We received a call today at 1212 hours to attend a road traffic accident on the A835.

"We dispatched one ambulance, a PICT response team and an air ambulance to the scene. We transported one patient to Raigmore Hospital.”
