Ondrej Kudela to miss Arsenal clash as Rangers and Slavia Prague wait on UEFA decision

Ondrej Kudela won't travel to the UK for Slavia Prague's game against Arsenal on Thursday night.

The defender suffered an injury on international duty and missed their weekend clash against Brno, and won't travel to London this week.

It had been expected that he would be questioned by police over the racist abuse directed at Glen Kamara during Rangers' 2-0 defeat to the Czech side last month when he arrived back in the country.

But he won't join his team-mates in England and hasn't trained so far this week, while still taking medication for his issues.

Reported by the Daily Record, a Slavia spokeperson said: "Ondrej is on antibiotics and has not done his UEFA tests or passed a fitness test.

"Unfortunately, we expect that he can't play against Arsenal.

"According to an examination at the Central Hospital in Prague, he has nasal contusion, high fever and is on antibiotics. The duration of his treatment cannot be estimated at the moment."

It comes as Rangers and Slavia continue to wait on the outcome of the investigation into the incidents that took place at Ibrox in March.

Kamara was targeted by vile abuse while Slavia then claimed Kudela was attacked in the tunnel during the aftermath of the game.

Both sides have until Monday to provide evidence to UEFA before a decision is eventually made.

Kamara, along with his lawyer Aamar Anwar, spoke to a UEFA investigator recently with the Ibrox star explaining the hurt that Kudela's abuse caused him.

The Finland star admitted he wishes he took Steven Gerrard's offer for the team to walk off the pitch, but wasn't thinking straight at the time.
