Ondrej Kudela out injured as Rangers racism accused suffers from Gareth Bale elbow ahead of Arsenal clash

Ondrej Kudela is out indefinitely for Slavia Prague after being injured by Gareth Bale while on international duty.

The defender drew the ire of the entire Scottish football community when he was involved in a racism storm with Rangers' Glen Kamara.

Kamara alleged Kudela called him a "monkey" in last month's Europa League clash, an accusation denied by Slavia and their player.

Investigations from UEFA and Police Scotland are still ongoing but Slavia have fired a series of baseless claims against the Premiership champions as they claimed last week that Ibrox managing director Stewart Robertson was exerting pressure on the inquiries.

But that came alongside an on-pitch incident in the international break after which sympathy for Kudela was in short supply.

Tottenham winger Bale, playing for Wales against Kudela's Czech Republic, caught his opposite man with an elbow.

Many Rangers fans were delighted, and even the Sky Sports commentator on duty remarked: "there will be large sections of the football community that won’t be too upset to see him take a blow to the face."

Kudela is now out for Slavia's trip to face Brno on Sunday evening and there could be question marks as to whether he'll be able to travel to face Arsenal on Thursday night - with Kamara's lawyer Aamer Anwar previously insisting police would be keen to chat to him around that date upon his arrival in the UK.

A statement from the Czech league leaders read: "Ondřej Kúdela is not available today due to nasal contusion from the international match between Czechia and Wales accompanied by high fever with antibiotics.

"Recovery time cannot be determined now."
