Ondrej Kudela appeals guilty Rangers racism verdict as Slavia star makes shameful move

Shamed Slavia Prague defender Ondrej Kudela will appeal his 10-match charge from UEFA for racist behaviour - according to his lawyer.

The footballing world was left disgusted after he branded Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara "a f****** monkey" at the end of his side's clash with Rangers last month.

Football came together to condemn the reprehensible incident that was heard by the Ibrox star's team-mate Bongani Zungu.

Many within the game felt the minimum suspension was ill-fitting of such a serious offence including Kamara's laywer Aamer Anwar, who called for a 12-month ban.

And the news that Kudela is reopening old wounds is set to leave a further bad taste in the mouth after one of the most unsavoury incidents in recent memory.

Kudela's ban would rule him out of UEFA competitions, meaning he would miss games for the Czech Republic at Euro 2020.

He received the reasoning for his ban on Thursday and decided to appeal.

His lawyer Rene Cienciala said: "The file does not contain any new evidence."
