The new film from Quentin Tarantino premiered at Cannes earlier this week and some critics noticed that several actors who were confirmed to appear failed to make the final cut.
Considering the runtime of the director's ninth feature Once Upon a Time... In Hollywood – it clocks in at a lengthy 165 minutes – he would have had a lot of footage to work through, meaning that some of the efforts applied by his cast have proved futile.
Among the casualties in the edit room are Westworld actor James Marsden and James Remar, as well as frequent Tarantino collaborators Tim Roth and Michael Madsen.
According to IndieWire, Gilmore Girls actor Danny Strong also fails to appear in the film despite being confirmed to do so.
The new film received a seven-minute standing ovation following its premiere at the Cannes film Festival earlier this week. Lead stars Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio and Margot Robbie were all present as was he director himself whose second film, Pulp Fiction, won the coveted Palme d'Or 25 years earlier.
Once Upon a Time... In Hollywood will be released in the UK on 9 August.
