Quentin Tarantino has always attracted incredible casts, but Once Upon A Timein Hollywood could be his most star-studded line-up yet.
Deadline has the scoop on the latest cast additions, with Damian Lewis, Dakota Fanning, and Luke Perry joining the likes of Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Margot Robbie.
As has previously been reported, the ninth movie from Tarantino will see various characters wandering around Los Angeles, the Charles Manson murders serving as the backdrop to the story.
Lewis will play the iconic actor Steve McQueen, while Fanning has been cast as Squeaky Fromme, a Manson follower who infamously attempted to assassinate President Gerald Ford. Perry will play the unspecified character Scotty Lancer.
Emilie Hircsh – best known for playing the lead in Into The Wild – has also joined the cast as Hollywood hairstylist Jay Sebring, one of Sharon Tate’s victims. Clifton Collins Jr, Keith Jefferson and Nicholas Hammond have landed supporting roles, playing Ernesto The Mexican Vaquero, Land Pirate Keith, and director Sam Wanamaker, respectively.
Burt Reynolds, Kurt Russell, Tim Roth, and Michael Madsen have already been announced for the film, Reynolds playing George Spahn, a nearly blind man who once rented his Los Angeles ranch to studios for Westerns.
Once Upon a Time In Hollywood will reportedly have a Pulp Fiction-like structure, telling various stories about characters around LA in the Summer of 69. DiCaprio will play the lead, a former Western TV star named Rick Dalton, while Pitt will play his stunt double. Rick struggles to make a name in Hollywood despite having a famous neighbour: Robbie’s Sharon Tate.
The movie will be released by Sony, Tarantino’s first film not released by the Weinstein company.
