Once Upon a Time in Hollywood: Brad Pitt teases potential TV series

Brad Pitt has teased a potential TV series of Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

The actor confirmed that Tarantino had discussed expanding the film into several episodes with more footage.

“Yeah he’s talked about it,” Pitt told The New York Times. “It’s a pretty arousing idea.”

Tarantino’s first assembly cut of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood ran for four hours and 20 minutes, with the final theatrical cut coming in at just over two hours and 40 minutes, so there’s a lot of extra material to be used.

Several scenes that played out in Sony’s promotional trailers and advertisements were not seen in the theatrical cut, and Tarantino also cut out scenes he shot with Tim Roth as Jay Sebring’s butler, James Marsden as Burt Reynolds, and Danny Strong as Dean Martin.

This would not be the first time one of Tarantino’s movies has been repurposed as multiple episodes, with a series version of his 2015 film The Hateful Eight launching on Netflix in April.
