Bernard has sent a heartfelt message to Everton fans following his transfer away from the club being confirmed.
The winger joined Sharjah earlier this week, bringing to an end his three-year stay on Merseyside having joined the Blues in the summer of 2018.
In the subsequent trio of seasons the Brazilian made 84 appearances for Everton in all competitions, scoring eight goals in those matches.
The 28-year-old has been met with an outpouring of kind messages from Everton fans after confirming his switch away from the club, and he has taken to social media to thank supporters for those words.
Bernard tweeted: "The last time I received so many messages like this was when I left Atletico in 2013.
"I thank all Everton fans for so many beautiful messages, unfortunately the external factor didn't allow me to accomplish what I wanted. Thank you very much.
"ONCE A BLUE, ALWAYS A BLUE."
Bernard signed a two-year contract with Sharjah earlier this week, while clubs from Greece and Russia were also interested in his signature.
