On way back from b’day bash, tailor dies in bike crash

Chandigarh: A 25-year-old man was killed after his motorcycle rammed into a street light pole in Sector 39 in the early hours of Saturday.

Rishabh Pratap, a resident of Jhampur village in Mohali, was returning home after celebrating the birthday of his friend at Chandigarh around 3 am. Pratap, a tailor, was not wearing a helmet, cops said.

Police said the post-mortem report would reveal whether the victim was under influence of liquor or not at the time of the accident. Police registered a case. On April 14, a 19-year-old youth was killed after his motorcycle rammed into a street light pole near a traffic signal at Shastri Nagar, Manimajra.
