On Vaikunta Ekadasi eve, VVIPs queue up to worship at Tirumala

TIRUPATI: Temples dedicated to various incarnations of Lord Vishnu here have been spruced up for the annual Vaikunta Ekadasi festival set to be celebrated on Thursday.

Several VVIPs including Chief Justice of India Justice N V Ramana, chief justices of various high courts, central and state ministers, celebrities and industrialists queued up at the abode of Lord Venkateswara on Vaikunta Ekadasi eve.

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams has made elaborate arrangements for the grand conduct of the festival without compromising on Covid-19 guidelines.

After the conduct of certain pre-dawn ceremonies, the Vaikunta Dwaram encircling the sanctum sanctorum of the hill temple will be opened for devotees for a period of 10 days from Thursday morning.

Meanwhile, various other TTD temples in Tirupati, dedicated to Lord Sri Maha Vishnu and his divine consorts, were decked up for the festival. TTD has placed barricades at various local temples anticipating heavy rush as pilgrim footfall.
