On this day in 1980 Nottingham Forest won the European Cup - again

Nottingham Forest will this week celebrate the 40th anniversary of winning the 1979 European Cup final.

The Reds were 1-0 winners against Malmo thanks to Trevor Francis's famous far post header 40 years ago.

Fans will need no reminding that it might have been the first time Forest won the continent's most prestigious club trophy, but it was not the last.

On this day in 1980, Brian Clough's side won the European Cup for the second year in a row.

This time it was John Robertson who got the goal in the 20th minute to seal a 1-0 win over Hamburg at the Santiago Bernabéu in Madrid.

Forest's team that day was as follows: Peter Shilton, Viv Anderson, Larry Lloyd, Kenny Burns, Frank Gray, Ian Bowyer, John McGovern, Gary Mills, Martin O'Neill, John Robertson, Garry Birtles;

Subs: John O'Hare, Brynn Gunn, Jim Montgomery, David Needham
