On the White Men Can’t Jump anniversary, let’s remember the Westbrook and Collison costume

Eighteen years ago today, White Men Can’t Jump was released. It stands to this day as one of the best basketball movies to ever hit the screen.

Starring Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson, the movie about a pair of street ball players Sidney Deane and Billy Hoyle, who use Hoyle’s (Harrelson) skin color and smooth shooting to hustle opponents.

In 2017, then-Oklahoma City Thunder point guard and Russell Westbrook and center Nick Collison recreated the iconic 90s-era costumes.

Westbrook captioned the picture, squatting next to Collison, with “This White Men CAN jump”

It’s still unclear though if Collison can actually hear Jimi Hendrix, or if he just listens to him.

The two also got their wives involved in the costuming.

Looks like they took Sidney Deane’s advice and listened to the women.

With that, happy anniversary to one of the great sports movies.

And happy memories of Westbrook’s and Collison’s time with the organization.
