On-the-whistle player ratings as Bristol Rovers secure point in added time against Plymouth Argyle

Jack Bonham – 6

Left exposed for the first goal and could do nothing about the second, but he did well to collect a number of balls into the box.

James Clarke – 8

A good performance from the right-back. Defensively he was untroubled, and he got forward well, putting some good crosses into the box – including a pin-point cross to Reilly for the equaliser..

Alfie Kilgour – 8

A strong first league start for the 20-year-old, who won a number of aerial battles and also put in some good tackles and blocks. Promising display.

Tony Craig – 5

It was all going so well for Craig who, like Kilgour, was putting in a solid defensive performance, but then, with 15 minutes left, he headed the ball into his own net when it looked like he was not under much pressure.

Tareiq Holmes-Dennis – 6

Tareiq Holmes-Dennis of Bristol Rovers (Ryan Hiscott/JMP)

Arguably defensively at fault for the first goal, with Ruben Lameiras being let in acres of space on the wing. It was the down mark on a solid performance in which he got forward well and put some decent crosses into the box.

Ollie Clarke – 7

A good performance from the stand-in captain – he used possession nicely and covered pretty much every blade of grass on the pitch. Might have been frustrated with hs

Ed Upson – 5

He was unable to properly get into the game and gave the ball away too often. Struggled to break up play as much as he has done recently.

Abu Ogogo – 6

Broke up play at times and put himself around throughout but was unable to influence the game as much as he would have liked.

Liam Sercombe – 6

Came alive when the Gas were on the front foot, producing a couple of driving runs, but he failed to find much of an end produced.

Tom Nichols – 5

Put himself about and saw an effort superbly saved by Plymouth goalkeeper Matt Macey, but struggled to be a constant threat against some physically strong defenders.

Jonson Clarke-Harris – 8

Scored an absolute wonder goal for Rovers’ first equaliser. It was a strong performance, as his hold-up play gave the Gas a foothold in the game and he troubled the Plymouth defenders throughout.

Last-gasp Bristol Rovers boost survival hopes with valuable Plymouth Argyle point

Alex Jakubiak, for Nichols, 66 – 6

Put one shot over the bar but did not really get into the game, featuring mainly on the wing.

Gavin Reilly, for Ogogo, 85 – 8

He’s the sort of striker that comes alive in the box – and he did that to aplomb when coming off the bench to flick James’ Clarke’s cross into the net.
