The world's largest passenger jet, the Airbus A380, is being unveiled in Toulouse today to great fanfare, in the presence of a clutch of European leaders including Jacques Chirac and Tony Blair. The superjumbo will be able to carry up to 800 passengers, or fewer if it is fitted out with all the on-board shops, casinos, gyms, cinemas and double beds being mentioned by the likes of Virgin boss Richard Branson. We'll be updating our story and adding photographs and an interactive tour of the cabin.

It's a busy day in Iraq, with the announcement that the country's borders will be closed for three days around the election on January 30. We're also looking at the start of the annual hajj pilgrimage, the planned shake-up in child access legislation and the start of Condoleezza Rice's confirmation hearings. And Simon Jeffery is looking at WD-40 and its role in the fight against drugs.
