The government announced today that spending on school meals is to increase to at least 50p per child per meal in English primary schools, and 60p in secondaries. The move comes as celebrity chef Jamie Oliver delivered a 271,000-signature petition to Downing Street in support of his campaign to improve food standards in schools.
