
A wakeboarder throws up a sheet of spray while performing a flip at a lake on Thursday, the first day of the Wakeboard World Championships 2018 in Miyoshi, Tokushima Prefecture. Wakeboarding is a water sport in which an athlete on a board is towed behind a motorboat and performs aerial maneuvers, including jumps and rolls. About 150 athletes from 33 countries and territories are taking part in the championships, which will be held through Sunday.
