Nottingham Forest fans have been quick to pile in after news emerged of the latest goings on at arch rivals Derby County.
The Rams’ administrators have been requested by the English Football League to provide proof of funds that the club can complete the season without a takeover.
As reported by our colleagues at DerbyshireLive, without proof of funds Derby are not allowed to extend contracts or sign players.
Any hopes boss Wayne Rooney had of strengthening a squad which is rock bottom of the Championship table have been put on hold as the club’s takeover saga rumbles on.
The crisis-hit Rams have already been deducted 21 points this term for financial breaches and going into administration.
The Reds face their bitter enemies at the City Ground a week on Saturday. And Forest supporters are already enjoying the build-up to that clash...
