On-loan Leeds United striker Jay-Roy Grot issued an apology after bust-up with Vitesse teammate

Vitesse Arnhem midfield Riechedly Bazoer has apologised to on-loan Leeds United Jay-Roy Grot after a bust-up which saw the former suspended by the club.

The Whites attacker is one of six players out on loan this season after failing to make an appearance for the club since Marcelo Bielsa's arrival at the club.

Having failed to make much impact on loan at fellow dutch side VVV-Venlo last term, Grot will be hoping to make a bigger impression in his latest spell abroad.

However, his week took a turn for the worst after teammate Bazoer was involved in a heated argument with the 21-year-old.

"I asked for the ball, he reacted and that had gotten out of hand," Grot told Fox Sports.

Reports suggest Grot and Bazoer had exchanged words during a club training before Bazoer was dismissed from the pitch after clashing with former Hull City boss Leonard Slutsky.

However, on Monday morning, the club confirmed through their official Twitter channel that Bazoer had apologised for the altercation and would return to training immediately.

The tweet translates as: “Bazoer is immediately in line to return to the first team. The midfielder has made his apologies and will be back training on the pitch today.”

Grot is understood to have accepted the Dutchman’s apology and will move forward and hope to improve his own fortunes for the club.

Despite featuring in all 11 of Vitesse’s Eredivise games this season, the forward has managed just one goal and one assist so far this term with the club fourth in the table
