A total of 16 swimmers made the trip, and came back with prizes, acclaim and personal bests.

In the 9/10 years age group, Evi Mackie was third in the 100m butterfly and 50m freestyle.

There was a bronze for Ayla Miller (11/12) in the 50m breaststroke and for Cameron Bruce (13/14) in the 200m individual medley.

Abbigail McArthur won the 15/16 years 100m backstroke, was second in 50m back and third in 200m freestyle.

Heather Stevenson was third in the 200m IM in the same age group.

Personal best times were posted by Samantha Pratt, Chelsea Millward, Justin Bone, Ross Carswell, Emma McCafferty, Anya McLaughlin, Abigail Smith, Caitlyn Hamilton, Niamh Jeffrey and Alistair Dunsmore.

Commenting after the two-day meet, coach Karen Kelly said: “Tollcross is a magnificent facility and it was great for our young swimmers to compete at the venue again.

“We had a few swimmers missing due to holidays, but the ones who enjoyed a good meet can be satisfied with their results.

“There are no short cuts to success, you need to apply yourself in training to give the best of yourself on competition day.”
