'On a different level' - Fans go wild for what Arsenal's Reiss Nelson did in England U21 clash

Arsenal forward Reiss Nelson has been hailed by fans and a former Manchester United midfielder after his impressive performance for England’s U21 side against Poland on Thursday night.

England were held to a 1-1 draw at Ashton Gate in Bristol but the Arsenal man, who is currently on loan at German side Hoffenheim, provided the standout moment of the game when he skipped around the Poland keeper and hooked the ball back for Dominic Calvert-Lewin to finish.

While Sebastian Szymanski equalised for Poland as the U21 friendly ended in a draw, all fans could talk about during and after the encounter was the performance, and particularly the assist, from Nelson.

Chelsea loanee Fikayo Tomori was arguably the best player on the field during the draw but it was Nelson who gained the rave reviews on social media and in the studio, with the forward playing 72 minutes.

BT Sport pundit Owen Hargreaves was also taken aback by Nelson’s first-half assist and added: “That composure and touch is everything that he’s about. Brilliant. He has such composure for a young man."

The 18-year-old has spent the entire season to date on loan at Hoffenheim in the German Bundesliga, but his future beyond the summer remains unclear.
