'OMG it's working, it's cutting ma hair' Scots funny man goes viral after cutting own hair with butter knife

A Scots funny man has gone viral with his hilarious attempt at cutting his own hair with a butter knife.

Steven Wrycza said he was forced to take matters into his own hands after seven weeks of hairdressers and other 'non essential' shops being shut amid the coronavirus lockdown.

The hilarious results of his efforts have caused a storm on social media, racking up more than 10,000 views in just 14 hours.

Steven, 28, had no idea his tongue-in-cheek snipping skills would be met with such enthusiasm.

He told the Record: "It's amazing!

"I shared the video on my Facebook page before I went to bed and never expected it to do so well, I just wanted to cheer up my friends.

"I'm a bit scared to be honest because it's out of control! But it's brilliant.

Steven, from Dundee, regularly keeps his pals entertained with his comedy Snapchat sketches, so decided to spread the joy a bit further this time by posting on Facebook.

Having suffered from depression in the past, he knows how important it is to keep spirits up during a time of crisis.

He added: "I lost my mum three years ago and my dad just in December, so I've had a bit of a rough time recently, and I know how important it is to keep laughing when things aren't good.

"Sometimes life sucks, but there are things we can do to keep ourselves going and feel happy."

Steven lives alone but is being kept company at home by his beloved British Shorthair, Benjamin, who also makes a fleeting - but very memorable - appearance in the clip.

Steven said: "I do everything off the top of my head when I'm making the videos, it's not planned, so when Benjamin came in at the end he became part of it and I think he makes it even funnier.

"Like most people who are living alone in lockdown, I find it lonely sometimes.

"But Snapchat, my cat are getting me by  - as well as keeping in contact with my friends."

And Steven has revealed that despite his best efforts at tidying his unkempt locks, there's only once place he's planning to head to as soon as lockdown is lifted in Scotland.

He added: "I'm going straight to the hairdressers. My hair doesn't look too good now, especially at the back. But it was a funny video and I'm just glad I've made some people happy."
