'OMG I HAVE THE BEST IDEA': Former call centre worker skimmed accounts

Jessica Kate Anderson (left) and Taylor Jade Geoghegan (right) have both been charged over the alleged scam.

A former ActewAGL call centre worker accused of skimming customer accounts of more than $10,000 has pleaded guilty in the ACT Magistrates Court.

Jessica Kate Anderson, 29, is one of two women charged over the alleged scam in which accounts that were in credit were robbed, with money being paid into bank accounts controlled by Anderson.

Her co-accused Taylor Jade Geoghegan, 20, also appeared in court today but pleaded not guilty to all charges.

The women are accused of organising the scam over their work email system.

Court documents show in one email from March Geoghegan wrote to Anderson: "OMG I HAVE THE BEST IDEA."

On April 18, Anderson sent an email to Geoghegan which said: "Destruction starts todayyyyy [sic]."

One email shows they discussed likely targets, including streets that had a lot of solar power.

At other times either Anderson or Geoghegan allegedly called the ActewAGL call centre at which they worked pretending to be clients, and requesting refunds be paid into Anderson's accounts.

It is alleged Geoghegan later profited from the sale of clothes Anderson bought, with payments made directly to a Paypal account in Geoghegan's name.

Anderson has pleaded guilty to eight charges and will be sentenced in the ACT Supreme Court.

Geoghegan will be back in court in November.
