Omer Sadiq arrest as police hold 27-year-old in connection with Glasgow killing

A man has been arrested in connection with the death of Omer Sadiq.

The 32-year-old was found seriously injured on Boydstone Road, Pollok, Glasgow, at around 1.25pm on Tuesday, 15 September.

He was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital but died a short time later.

Police launched a murder investigation into the death and have now arrested a 27-year-old.

He is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court tomorrow on Friday, October 2.

Sadiq was laid to rest on Friday as hundreds of mourners flocked to Glasgow Central Mosque.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Following an investigation, officers have arrested a 27-year- old man in connection with the death of a 32-year-old man in Glasgow.

"Omer Sadiq, 32, was found seriously injured on Boydstone Road around 1.25pm on Tuesday, 15 September.

"He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he died a short time later.

"A 27-year-old man has been arrested in connection with his death and is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Friday 2 October 2020. 

"A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
