Omar Colley's agent discusses Sampdoria man's future amid Leeds United link

The agent of Leeds United-linked Sampdoria defender Omar Colley has opened up on reports linking him with a move away from the club.

Colley was a rumoured target for Leeds and a host of other Premier League clubs in the summer, but their interest never firmed up into a concrete offer.

Leeds do already possess a host of options at centre back, with Diego Llorente, Liam Cooper, Pascal Struijk and Robin Koch all important members of Marcelo Bielsa’s squad.

The emergence of teenage centre back Charlie Cresswell this season has also been a plus point for the Whites as his league debut against in-form striker Michail Antonio proved he is able to cut it at the highest level.

29-year-old Colley, though, has started all nine of Sampdoria’s Serie A matches so far this season and has proven to be a reliable option at the back since his arrival from Genk in 2018.

He has made 94 appearances for the Blucerchiati over the course of his three year stay at the club.

Despite interest from Leeds, Colley’s agent Cheihk Fall believes that it would take a major offer in order to prise him away from Sampdoria.

“The reasoning is always the same. He can leave Sampdoria only if a great offer arrives; let’s say the offer of a lifetime.

“He is fine at Sampdoria and Genoa (the city in which Sampdoria are based). He will never leave this team for clubs and salaries of the same level or slightly higher.

“In fact, we have always rejected similar offers in recent years.”
