Oman’s Sultan Pardons 332 Prisoners, Including 142 Foreigners

Sultan Qaboos bin Said of Oman on Sunday issued a royal pardon for 332 prisoners, including 142 foreigners, the official Oman News Agency (ONA), reported.

The pardon coincides with the country’s celebration of its National Day, ONA said.

No details were given about the charges issued against the released prisoners.

Oman celebrates its National Day on Monday which will witness a military parade at the Said Bin Sultan Naval Base.

It also celebrates the birthday of Sultan Qaboos, who ascended the throne in 1970.
