
Oman registered on Wednesday 298 new coronavirus cases, a record daily rise.
Its cases now total 4,019.
The health ministry said the death toll increased to 17 and the recoveries to 1,289.
The finance ministry announced that the Sultanate will cut the budgets of government bodies and the armed forces by a further 5% this year, as part of measures to offset the impact of falls in oil prices.
The budgets had already been cut by 5% in mid-April in response to the coronavirus outbreak.
Kuwait meanwhile, reported 751 new infections in the past 24 hours. Its count now stands at 11,028.
The health ministry reported seven fatalities, raising the toll to 82.
Qatar on Wednesday reported 1,390 cases, taking its tally to 26,539.
