Kuwait reported on Monday the highest daily jump in coronavirus cases, at 109 in the past 24 hours, taking the country’s total to 665.

Health ministry spokesman Dr. Abdullah al-Sanad added that four people have recovered, raising the tally to 103.

He said eight of the new cases were linked to travel abroad, while 101 were linked to contact with other patients.

Kuwait placed a full lockdown on two areas and extended its partial curfew by two hours to run from 5 pm until 6 am effective Monday until further notice, a statement from the cabinet said.

It also extended a previously enacted suspension of work for all ministries and government institutions by two weeks until April 26 as precautionary measure against coronavirus.

Oman registered on Monday 33 new coronavirus cases, raising the sultanate’s count to 331.

The health ministry announced that 61 cases had recovered, while two died from the virus.

It urged the people to respect preventive measures and to only leave home unless necessary.
