Oman is bracing for tropical cyclone Kyarr, which is expected to make the mainland in some three days.

The category 4 storm is heading towards the country’s west-northwest coast.

"The nearest convective cloud bands of cyclone around 640 km from Oman coasts, where the cyclone direction is west-northwest with wind speed of about 115-125 knots around the center,” said the Oman Meteorology in a statement on Monday.

People were cautioned to look out for the early signs of the storm, with Arab Sea waves reaching 3-5 meters.
