A popular Omagh night spot has decided to suspend its wet bar and entertainment due to a surge in "province-wide" Covid 19 cases.
Rue Main Street, which contains a number of bars, restaurants and entertainment venues including the newly opened Hennessy's, will open on a food-only basis from this Friday, mirroring the rules which were put in place following the first lockdown in 2020.
Accommodation at the complex will continue to operate but customers visiting the premises must order a meal.
A spokesperson for the venue said the decision was taken as a result of staffing pressures, with several staff having to self-isolate in recent days.
In a Facebook post the venue siad: "Owing to the most recent 'province wide' surge in Covid 19 Infections, the Main Street Complex will be suspending all wet bar and entertainment offerings this weekend.
"Rue Restaurant & Rooms At Rue will continue to operate, albeit on a pre-booked table service, food only basis. Drinks served along with meal, as per the original (first) post lockdown guidelines (July 3, 2020)."
"Outside Service will be suspended from 5pm this evening (Friday)."
"We thank you for your continued support during these unprecedented times."
A spokesperson for Rue Main Street said management had decided that workers needed a break, with a number of staff self-isolating and rota numbers down as a result.
