
The Olympic rings are lit up in the background of a fireworks display at the Odaiba Marine Park in Minato Ward, Tokyo, on Friday, to commemorate six months before the opening of the Tokyo Olympics. The Tokyo metropolitan government installed the floating rings -- 15.3 meters high, 32.6 meters wide and 1.7 meters deep -- to increase enthusiasm around the Games. The lighting of the rings continues daily until Aug. 9 when the Olympics end.
